The Queen Charlotte — Alesha Pryce
£5,500.00
Artist: Alesha Pryce
Medium: Fired terracotta clay

The Queen Charlotte reimagines royal portraiture through Black womanhood. Drawing on classical sculpture and Black British hair magazines from the late 1980s onwards, the bust celebrates sculpted hairstyles as expressions of creativity, identity and power. It also honours the Windrush generation’s legacy of hair salons as spaces of community, storytelling and care, recognising the everyday majesty of Black women.
