The Black Artists You Missed at Art Basel Qatar 2026
It has been just over a week since Art Basel Qatar closed its doors in Doha, and the conversation is still going. Most of it circles the same thing: how different it felt. No first-day sales announcements. No sprawling booth halls to power-walk through. Unlike every other Art Basel edition, Qatar limited galleries to solo presentations in an open-plan design across two venues in Msheireb Downtown Doha. One gallery, one artist. That was the rule. As we heard on the ground, the

We’re going to Art Basel Qatar
Okay so. We're going to Art Basel Qatar next week. This is the first Art Basel ever in Qatar. Which means it's their first time AND our first time. Here's the thing. We only officially opened our doors in March 2025. We're less than a year old, but we have BIG plans for this year. When we started The Lemon Seed Project we had two main missions, to champion black artists, and to bring art back where it belongs - home . We know how gate kept the art world can feel and it's ofte

Sell your artwork with us for free
The difference between an artist and a selling artist is visibility and access. Talent alone isn’t enough if the right people never see your work. Until now, our online shop was only available to artists exhibiting with us during their six-week shows. We’ve opened it up. You can now list your work with us even if you’re not currently exhibiting. Here’s how it works. You submit the artwork you’d like to sell. That includes images, descriptions, sizes, pricing, quantity availab

Unframed: Lauren Little
“I’m not always making art, but I’m always making something.” For Lauren Little, making is constant. Cut paper collage has been her starting point since university, a medium she returns to because it’s where she first found flow. Over the past seven to eight years, her work has focused on who we were, who we are, and who we’re becoming, exploring those shifting versions of self through layering, repetition, shadow and light. Always Never There by Lauren Little Her latest body

Recognised in The Art Newspaper
Our Artists Unite: Hurricane Melissa Relief campaign has just been featured in The Art Newspaper , and it feels like an important moment for everyone involved. This campaign came together from a place of urgency, community and care. When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica and the islands, the artists in our network didn’t hesitate. They offered their work, their time and their platforms to help raise funds for the families and communities rebuilding their lives. What started as a

We’ve Raised £2053 for Hurricane Melissa Relief..but the work isn’t done yet!
Hurricane Melissa hit the Caribbean hard, and for a lot of us, this wasn’t some distant headline. It affected places we know, people we care about, and communities we recognise. That’s what pushed us to create the Artists Unite: Hurricane Melissa Relief Fund - a space where art can actually fuel recovery. With everyone's support, we've now raised £2,053, and that full amount has already been donated directly to Project Hope. What Hurricane Melissa Left Behind Hurricane Meliss

Happy International Artists Day
What would the world be without art? Well it wouldn’t be the world at all. Today (and everyday) we honour the artists who have made The Lemon Seed Project what is it, who have trusted us to join us on the journey and have blessed Havant house with their incredible works. The Lemon Seed Project was founded to champion Black artists outside the sometimes constrictive frameworks of the traditional gallery system. We bring art back to where it belongs, at home. By placing works w
