The Lemon Seed Project isn’t just another exhibition. It’s a movement. A home for Black artistic voices, literally. Founded by interior designer and Black art collector Natasha Landers aka Until Lemons R Sweet, this project transforms the way we connect with art: placing it in a lived-in space rather than a sterile gallery. Natasha’s home, a design-led location house, has always been filled with Black art. It’s not just decoration; it’s conversation, culture, and heritage wrapped into every brushstroke, textile, and sculpture.
After years of visiting galleries and feeling something was missing, a sense of warmth, connection, home, Natasha decided to create it herself. She tested the idea with a private viewing last year and later welcomed visitors again during Open House. The response was clear: people craved an experience where art wasn’t just displayed, but felt, engaged with, and truly lived.
Our Debut Exhibition: Black Roses in My Garden
The Lemon Seed Project launches with Black Roses in My Garden, an extraordinary exhibition by the award-winning artist Yvadney Davis. Inspired by Barrington Levy’s song Black Roses, Yvadney’s work reimagines Black heritage, joy, and resilience in a space that feels real and immersive. Instead of seeing her work in isolation, visitors will experience it within the textures and rhythms of a home, a setting that invites a deeper, more personal connection to the art.
More Than an Exhibition – An Incubator for Black Artists
At its core, The Lemon Seed Project is an incubator for Black artists. It’s a space where curators, collectors, gallerists, and creatives can come together to collaborate and cultivate new ideas. We’re here to amplify underrepresented voices and reimagine how Black art is showcased, experienced, and ultimately collected. And yes, that means giving visitors the chance to bring pieces home, ensuring that these stories continue beyond the walls they were first seen in.
Join Us
We kick things off with a private viewing on March 21st, offering an exclusive first look at Yvadney Davis’ powerful "Black Roses in My Garden". Then, on March 22nd, the doors open to the public, with free tickets available online. We invite you to step into this new world with us, where art doesn’t just hang on the walls; it lives, speaks, and belongs.
The Lemon Seed Project is just getting started. Are you ready to experience art in its natural habitat?
