The Lemon Seed Project Featured in Waltham Forest Echo

When our founder Natasha Landers opened up her Walthamstow home as a gallery, it wasn’t just about colour, furniture or interiors. It was and is about confronting the structures that decide who gets to be seen. In her Waltham Forest Echo feature, Natasha says it plainly: white supremacy is still alive in the art world. Traditional galleries too often exclude, erase or intimidate.

As an interior designer, art collector, and diversity and inclusion consultant, Natasha brings both experience and conviction to this work. The Lemon Seed Project is our response. A home-gallery that centres Black artists, while opening the door for everyone to experience art in a space that feels warm, personal and connected to everyday life. It’s also a germinator, where emerging artists can build relationships with collectors, curators, gallerists and communities eager to discover talent.

Since launching, we’ve hosted exhibitions that speak to power, memory and resilience: Yvadney Davis’ Black Roses in My Garden, honouring Black beauty and resilience, and Tee Max’s The Ascension Years, celebrating the giants of hip hop and R&B before the world knew their names. These shows have proved that when you remove the barriers, art can be shared more openly, more accessibly, and with a deeper sense of connection.
