DWARE! (Bath time in a Black British household) — Erica Nuamah
£850.00
Artist: Erica Nuamah
Medium: Mixed media on canvas: acrylic, stable pigment, silicone and salt
Dimensions: 80 × 60 cm
DWARE! depicts a familiar Ghanaian bathing ritual in a South London council flat. Water is drawn from a bucket using a ladle, while an African net sponge is used to wash. Details of the domestic setting place this inherited practice within everyday British life. The painting documents how culture and family traditions travel, adapt and remain alive across generations and borders.
