Artist’s Statement

“This work was born from an experience of feeling consumed, as though I were drowning from within. The figure stands defiant beneath a web of stretched cells, clutching poppy stems that symbolise both pain and the relief that soothes it. It is an expression of resilience and of the longing for personal peace.”
