Beyond the Blues

Beyond the Blues is a reclamation of narrative and a tribute to resilience. Referencing the blues tradition, it centres contemporary joy and emotional freedom, challenging narrow assumptions through symbols of curiosity, individuality and self-definition.

Buzzawe's portraiture challenges narrow representations of Black identity, finding space for joy, curiosity, vulnerability and self-definition.
