The Queen Charlotte
The Queen Charlotte reimagines regality through a Black feminine lens, bringing classical sculpture together with Black British hair culture. Inspired by Black Beauty and Hair magazines, it honours Black women's beauty, power, community and intergenerational traditions.
Her Black Beauty series draws on her mother's archive of British Black beauty magazines and the cultural history of Caribbean hair salons. Through sculptural vessels and forms, Pryce preserves the salon as a space of care, creativity and cultural memory.
