About the event

The Lemon Seed Project is honoured to present There’s Rice at Home — the first solo exhibition from Kazvare, one of the most distinctive voices in Black British art.

This exhibition considers how Black British life is lived, not only in public, but in private. In the objects we use, the language we speak, and the conditions we are expected to endure. Set within the domestic space of Havant House 53, the works locate Blackness within the familiar rhythms of everyday life.

Expect illustrations, text-based works and materially reworked pieces that move between humour and critique, the intimate and the political. Expect to leave feeling entertained. But also slightly provoked.

About the Exhibition

This is a timed, public viewing of There’s Rice At Home and is not the same as the private view taking place on the 1st May.
