Artist Statement: The Hand Masters Eno pieces were commissioned for an exhibition at the English National Opera. Each piece in the collection features original costumes from three iconic productions: The Magic Flute, Pilgrim's Progress, and Tosca. This spectacular group exhibition of new artworks created by leading artists was inspired by the work of the ENO’s approach to bringing diversity. Being a part of this commission makes my art exceptionally meaningful, as the costumes effectively capture the essence of the 17th century Dutch masters period, serving as a valuable addition to my Hand Masters collection.

Artist Bio
Violeta Sofia is an award-winning photographer and visual artist, renowned for her exploration of race and diasporic identity. Born to Cameroonian and Equatorial Guinean parents (b. 1979, Cameroon), Violeta's artistic vision is deeply anchored in her African heritage, which she seamlessly intertwines with influences from old master paintings. This unique blend of cultural and artistic elements enables her to create narratives that resonate on both personal and universal levels.
